Was on a steep incline and backed down. When I shifted to forward it would not move. That was the second time today it happened, the first time I thought it was low on fluid and being on the incline so I added fluid and it worked fine until I was up there again. Now it won't move at all. Have tranny pressure and converter pressure. The drive shaft is not turning. Can anybody help me?

Chaser,

Sounds like the fiber ring that connects
the torque converter to the flywheel has lost
it's teeth. That is why you have pressures and
no rotating driveshaft. Drop converter out the
bottom ,replace ring ,and reinstall converter.

So I should be able to crawl underneath and crank motor over to verify if the converter is turning or not? If not than the ring is broken?

Thanks George I will check this out after work today.

I was going to suggest the hydraulic suction hose on the bottom of the transmission, but if you have pressure that shouldn't be the problem. But it happened to our 450b a few years ago. It would build some pressure but wouldn't move and it turned out that the hose was old and being sucked flat.

Working on a steep grade I will bet you stept on the brake before changing direction . your brake plunger on your trans. stuck in the neutral position.

The brakes have never worked, so I have never pushed them in the 4 years I have owned it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I can tell you that my motor has never ran so smooth since I have owned it, like there is no load what so ever. I will check the gauages and pressures after work and post results.

Any other ideas??

Thanks

Tranny pressure was 225 converter pressure 65.

Does that mean the charging pump is good? Why wont this thing move all the sudden?
