Topic: Wain-Roy backhoe problem

I have a 1963 wain Roy backhoe with a hydrostatic transmission that stops after a few minutes or doesn't move at all. All the hydraulics work fine. Any advise on how to diagnose this problem?

| Are you sure it's a hydrostatic ?? I didn't think many hydros were made in backhoes back then..I'm more inclined to believe it's a powershift clutchpack transmission..At any rate.... I'd take the transmission filter out and cut it apart to look for brass..When a hydro "goes south" , it makes a lot of brass that will get caught in the filter media..
