I have a JI Case 1170 Agri King that I"m experiencing problems with the power steering, brakes and hydraulics barely working. The steering is loud when turned in either direction. My fluid levels are up. Do I need to replace the hydraulic pump, or since I have some hydraulic pressure and steering, could it be another problem?.

Would anyone know where I can buy a JI Case master repair manual for the 1170 that wouldn"t cost me a major fortune?. I have come across some originals out there, but the sellers want too much for them because of collector value. I need one just for reference, not collecting.

Just order one from CIH don't think there even a $150. I sure as heck can't see them being a collecters item. A very good investment if you like doing your own work. Case manuals are good they walk you through pretty much everything on those tractors.

Hey Stimpy: I had the same problem several years ago with my 1175. All it was , was a bad rubber seal between the pump suction & the body it seats against.

Re: Case 1170 stays in reverse, shifter panel wor in reply to John Saeli, 11-16-2004 17:52:27

I just bought a case 1170, the gear shift "slot" from reverse to forward speeds is so wore out that the shift lever can move into the forward speeds, but the tractor stays in reverse. I was scared that I could also put it into a forward gear and have it in reverse and forward at the same time, is that possible and watch the metal fly if it is. Jim

I just bought a case 1170, left pedal has no brake, we open the bleeder and some hydraulic fluid came out, left tractor running for 15 minutes, tightened it up, still no brake. Its like the pedal is not engaging the hydraulics. Right brake is fine Any suggestions?
Jim
