New 34" rears for the VAC

Oh, that new tire feeling. :)

I've been fretting about rear tires now that I have 2 VAC's that have 34" rears, the old tires are holding air but have deep cracks. About 6 years ago I passed on getting a set of nearly new Armstrongs on rims for $500, I've been beating myself up about not getting those ever since. Now I have even more reason. :( So I found a great deal on eBay and got a 10% credit in the bargain. :)

(quoted from post at 21:23:01 09/21/18) I wish my VAC had the 34s. Makes a VAC look real sharp.
I actually like both. My '49 has 28's. I put 12.4's on it replacing the 11's and it looks much nicer.

My 300 has the wider 28s and it makers her stand taller. I
have thought about putting the wider 28s on the VAC with the
narrower 28 rims but I?m not sure how that would look.

I have 4 VACs 2 with 28 inch rears. 1 with 32 inch rears and one with 38 inch rears. The 2 with to bigger tires are both parts tractors. I also have a VAI with 24 inch rears.

I have a VAC with 34" good tread but some cracks. I have worried about tires with cracks since I started looking seriously at buying a few tractors.
Last month I was in Marcus Iowa at a tractor pull. I guy pulled up with 3 JDs on a trailer. The G had some of the worst tires I ever saw as far as
cracks go and he wall pulling hard with it. I quit worrying about tires, for my usage anyway.

Phil, I have done the same thing, but looks like your back on track, and a good idea, maybe the current tires on the "VAC" are still going, so you can store the new ones, for a while and don't get forced into a bad deal when the tires give out

That is just what I'm going to do. :) Keeping my options open, I'm not sure which ones will be workers and which will get fixed up for the local tractor show. I got a great deal on the tires which pushed me towards buying now, the current stock is going to run out at some point, and who knows when they will do another run.
