Low oil pressure VAC

My VAC has low oil pressure, below 10 lbs. when warm. I had a guy tell me at a tractor show that you can increase oil pressure by dropping the pan and adding a washer somewhere on the oil pump. I didn't take notes. Is anyone aware of how to do this and perhaps can send me a picture of the part where it goes?

Thank you.

He is referring to shimming the oil pump relief valve spring.

A Case VAC is not known to be a high pressure oil system. My VAC has an oil pressure gauge on it that reads 0 to 80 and it never gets above 20. Been running it that way for 2 or 3 years now. I use 20W-50 oil in it by the way.

Lieu: It doesn't sound like you have a relief valve problem. By your description, your VAC has better pressure when cold? If so, and if your relief valve were the problem, the pressure would be the same warm or cold. If I understand correctly, that your pressure is better when cold, your problem is a worn engine,; ie: crankshaft bearings, cam bearings & most likely the pump itself. To get better pressure, if the spring were the problem, would mean the pump would need the ability to create more pressure, but that doesn't seem to be possible.

On your VAC, 20 pounds is excellent, and 10 pounds is poor. Pull the oil pan and inspect.
