Big question is why is the engine locked up?? I had an A/C 190XT that was locked up due to an injector pump seal going bad and that thinned out the oil and locked it up. I fill the cylinders with turpentine and let it sit a few days. Tried to spin it over and that was a mistake because the injectors where sitting In there holes but no tighten down. Sent 2 or 3 of those injectors flying because it freed up. Had the injector pump rebuilt and it turned into a good running tractor that was way to big for my place

Check the archives many have warned that the rotary pumps can be seized up from sitting. If stuck you caan twist off the shaft in the pump.

Maybe true but the cause of it locking up can still be the same and be caused by fuel in the oil.

Hey thanks for the pump concern. This will be a parts tractor. If I do mess with the engine I will pull the pump first. I have my dad s first case tractor 400 gasser. Numbers on the diesel are mod. 401 ser.8080165. Gasser is 8069327. I ll see if sil can post some pics. For the parts I need this was a good by. RB

Bought this 400 a year ago with a 325 Du-all loader and grapple for $600. No eagle hitch or hydraulics but still a good running gas tractor...
