For quite a while now I have been unable to keep my 885 running for more than a minute or so, usually a lot less than that. I have had the injectors
and the injector pump rebuilt. I changed the fuel filters. I cleaned out the fuel tank and made sure I'm getting a steady flow of fuel to the filters.
I removed the air cleaner just to see if air flow might be the problem. Nothing has made a difference. I have to use a little starting fluid to crank
it. It runs for anywhere from 15 seconds to a a minute, then starts slowing down and kills. If I spray a little starting fluid into the air intake
when I hear the motor start to slow down, it picks back up and runs a while longer. I am at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem is. The
lift pump seems to be working okay because after I changed the filters, I worked the lever on the bottom of it long enough to fill the new filters and
get diesel coming out of the little bleeder screw at the top of the pump. Any help would be appreciated.
