930 3pt hitch issues

My 930 case has a pretty bad hydraulic leak right around the point where the 3pt arms go into the side of the tractor. Hydraulic fluid pours down the side of the tractor in a steady stream anytime it’s running. Has anyone disassembled the 3pt hitch assembly and seen what’s inside? Are there seals around the 3pt arms that need replacing?

I’d assume the seat and fuel tank need removed to get the arms out. Any help or guidance would be very appreciated. I’d like to get this tractor going again!

I think you better look closer. There is really not any amount of oil that that would be leaking from the rock shaft. If the oil is leaking down the LH side as you look from rear, I would suspect that the hyd. filter or small line on it is leaking. The spot where the filter is located is prone to a lot of dirt and debris buildup.

Loren- thank you for the reply. I’d hate to contradict, but I’ve seen it leak multiple times. Every time the tractor is running hyd oil streams out both sides of the rock shaft (if those are the two arms mounted underneath the fuel tank that control 3 pt hitch movement). Both LH and RH of tractor.

I can take photos but I’m at a tractor show in PA all weekend.. If i can find a 30 series case on display I’ll snap a photo. 3pt hitch does not work and is held up by rope. Hopefully it’s not a symptom of a more severe problem but that’s what’s going on.

There is no pressurized oil around your rockshaft. The only other place pressurized oil can come from in that area is the DOM control valve.
Pull the seat, remove the floor board, pressure wash the top of the tranny in that area and have another look.
I grew up with these tractors and can see no conceivable way oil can flow from the rockshaft when the tractor is just running.

Loren - thank you for the help. It's good to have a place to start. I'll get to removing the seat and floor panels ASAP. If its the DOM control valve hopefully its not screwed up too badly - if not I'll post a picture of the leak in progress and we'll go from there.
