Case 311

I have an old Case 311 that is in pretty rough shape.
It has the Eagle 3 point hitch.
I was trying to figure out if it was worth fixing up, if it was desirable as a Restorable Antique or if it was just better to send her to Scrap???
Any input is appriciated

Good running, looking tractors like this sell in the $1500-$2500 range, as a general rule. Start
figuring just the cost of restoration parts, tires, paint, mechanical etc and you're quickly top heavy.
Us old iron nuts seldom look at like that though, so often old has sentiment, we own it, we like it etc
etc. A totally rationally sane person would move yours and if you wanted one, buy a better one.
Most of us don't fit in that category though.

Are you looking for monetarily value or usefulness value?
If you are looking to fix it up to sell, don't waste your time and money. If you are looking for a tractor to use, it will be worth the time and money to fix it up. Provided the engine isn't froze tight.

I think phase 1 would be to get it running if the engine is loose. Then re-evaluate its internal condition. Tires look good. Might make a good chore tractor. Lot of effort to make it a show tractor. Too good to scrap. Lots of buyers out there.

530??? Can you post more pics. Rear tires are spendy, if good and engine/power train is operational worth fixing in my opinion.

Here's the facts. A 311B is a very desirable little tractor, but yes, will take many $$$ to restore. Many of us here would take it in a heartbeat for "scrap" price. Would you sell it to a collector or restorer for scrap price? If so, where are you located?

At some point someone thought it was a 530. it is most certainly a 311B.

I have no idea what Scrap price would be. I am in South Jersey.
Part of me would like to see her redone and part would like to keep her.
I used it for a few years, and loved her

Old cast iron price is $1200.00/ton. But that isn't the price you will receive at the scrap yard. You'd be lucky to get half of that from them.

Please don't let that cool Case 311B get scrapped! Scrapping is for '90s front wheel drive cars and things of that sort. I have a Case 200 and a 430 that are similar to that tractor and they are neat tractors.

Well, as Loren said in a new thread, much more info needed. Especially location, that's usually a deal-killer, it cost me $200 to move my tractor 40 miles when I bought it, and it ran. But very important also:
1) does the motor turn?
2) will it actually run if someone comes to look at it?
3) post a bunch more pics, several angles overview, closeups of ID tag, instrument cluster, steering wheel, seat, any accessories, any problem areas
4) anything else you can think of that might make somebody want this thing.
