Someone near me has a Case 1255 haybine for sale. Is this really a haybine or is this a windrower for swathing grain? How is parts availability for something like this? Just wondering if it"s worth going to take a look.

I believe they were available with heads for either one. I would think if its advertised as a haybine, it has the conditioner head with auger. I have some literature on them, but I don't have the process down for posting pics on here yet. Hydrostatic drive.

1255 came only in a auger head, 10'.12' or 14' they also have a conditioner can be used for grain but it was made for hay , very HD made has the Case 188 gas or dsl engine and hydrostatic drive,, as for parts they were only made in 1969 then it went to a 1275 I doubt Hesston supports many parts for them today but things like belts can be found after market

No problem. "Haybine" has become like Kleenex and Xerox...trademarked names that everyone uses to refer to whatever brand.

Sounds like a 1255 is more of a collector piece than something I'd want to try and keep running for the long term. Thanks for the info.

I have a good running MF 655 12" draper here for sale, its a hydro machine also but I am in NE Wyoming so freight would kill the deal,, by the way I also have a 1255 Case too in my collection

Funny. We just got back from Cheyenne Frontier Days. Farthest north we got in Wyoming was crossing to South Dakota on 18 going to Edgemont. Some wide open country out your way compared to Wisconsin.
