While mowing weeds with my 300 I was hearing a dull knocking sound when going up grades. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the 3 range gear box. I usually run in 2-D, I tried 3-L and the knock quieted down some. Then I tried 1-H and the noise was gone, but I was traveling a bit faster than I wanted to. Which do you guy's think it could be, chipped gear in the D range, or a noisy bearing?
