There is a 300 for sale I am going to look at. It is a bit rough as it was ressurected from a grove. It is supposed to run. What warning signs
(other than what you would look for on any tractor) should i look for? I heard leaks from the engine back is one thing, tin and guages are another.
Thanks in advance

Are you looking to restore it or just use it as is? Is it a round nose 300? If so, parts like tinwork and grill can be hard and expensive to find in decent shape. The gauge cluster can be expensive to restore as well. I would make sure that the triple-range, 4 speed, and hand clutch all work if possible. The hydraulic dipstick is under the dash next to the dash support. The 4 speed dipstick is about in the same spot as your VAC. Take a look at the seat suspension as it will probably need to be rebuilt. The parts are available as that seat was used on several Case tractors but it will also be somewhat pricey. The 300 could be had with several different configurations and options from the factory so keep that in mind when looking it over. Also, check the eagle hitch arms for how much sway they have in them and see if the original toplink is with it.
