I was asked to do a threshing demo for our local Historic days put on by the local museum. Other than taking a full week off from my farming jobs it seems to have been a complete success. we know over 350 came tot he show but are waiting on the final tally, several folks came and expressed how much they enjoied it and some really made my day to say the least. Anyway a few shots from the show taken by me and my wife, it was a miserable day with 98-78% humidity and temps going past 96 degrees,, I use small squares as I sold my binder as there is no way I can bind alone. The wife got a couple real nice vids also but sadly I have no way to post them here

Looks like fun to me. Wish I could have been there. Sounds like our weather here, hot and muggy. Makes for a tough day.

Sure great pictures, and also a lot of work, with those temperature's, I can handle the heat, but the humidity makes me want air. Tom, I enjoyed your post.
(ah, the old Duncan was at work too)

Tom, Great to see equipment from the past still able to work . They are few and far between an also people to run them. Jerry from Ohio

Tom,

I've seen chopper threshing before, but never baler threshing. Did you lose much grain during the baling process? Don

some for sure but not as much as you lose on the trailer when pitching it in lol there is plenty of grain in them though Don, for me it works very well and I can handle all steps alone,, I put up Lots of this hay barley into round bales every year great cow food,, but yes you can always see where you tied a bale ,, the geese LOVE Me when I do this, same strip I took the bales off of the next morning

Steve, I got over four 5 gallon buckets full and some on the ground when the buckets ran over,, from 30 or so bales,, of course the elevators/augers had to fill, the stuff was Green when I cut it but I had to get it down so it would dry by the show and thresh decent, as it was I had a few bales pretty tough I had to tear apart some when feeding them or she Growled a bit, they were also grown tot he ground after a rain so I had to use the 955 to roll them over so the 130 could get a bite and eat the long straw, I am sure I lost a good amount

Thanks for showing Tom, good to see everything working. Is this the first time you used the thresher. Rod.

Thanks a lot for the pictures. I have to bind by myself sometimes, I usually watch the bundles
pretty close and if I have to make constant adjustments it can be a pain, but if we have a good
stand of wheat it isn't a problem. Bundles usually come out pretty good, i'll bet there is less
waste baling.

I should have mentioned, if you set the spring tension on the bundle carrier right it
will actually dump on its own also.

Thank you for all your time and hard work to put on your threshing demonstration!!!!!

It is a late one for sure and has seen few hours many of the pulleys still have paint on them, runs very smooth and quite

It was for sure and I still have to put the thresher away ion the shed again,, it took all day to dig it out lol but it was worth it for the few folks who came up and talked to me

Tom, do you ever just slow down, shut the tractor off and enjoy that View in the one pic, baling? I'm learning to do that, just slow down and enjoy, I like that pic, and thought wouldn't that be a great place for the Mrs. to bring out lunch to enjoy together.

This picture, is a place I set up in the meadow, under a big cottonwood, that really acts like a air conditioner. We have eaten out there and enjoyed a quiet afternoon, with family.

Dan, I do take time to enjoy sun rises and sun sets but this time of year I do run pretty hard, been going form 3 am till 8-10 pm I am gaining on the work,, I am over half way done cutting Barley down for hay,, then combining will start when that is done I am betting as fast as its turning,, lost a rear tire day before yesterday, got that replaced, and over another 60 acres or more of ground, That sure looks like a NICE place to take a rest at you deserve it for sure. I made hamburger steaks for dinner last night
