Value of a Vac Case

Looking at a case vac non running but should
With little work inside farmer new paint job and new tires
What?s it worth as is and what?s it worth up and running

VAC has28 inch tires if I remember correctly, very hard to find used, so it is worth the value of the tires plus the condition of the tin work. Engine is non running, eagle hitch would make it worth more also. My opinion 800 dollars is tops a parade ready running VAC probably could only fetch 1100-1200 dollars. A VAC is a gutsy little 18-20 hp tractor that will do a lot of work, probably under appreciated in the market today. My opinionated guess. In the real world both my numbers are probably too high. gobble

I have looked at a lot of VAC's before buying mine. I would say without the eagle hitch and fair tires and tinwork, 500. with Eagle hitch 800. Add if the tires are new. Seems like completely painted running vac with eagle hitch can be had for $1500 and no more than $2000. There are lots more out there for more than that, but they have been out there for a while. I am commenting on values in NW Missouri, where I think Case is not a big player. Values might be higher elsewhere.

My VAC has 34 inch tires. Very expensive to replace.
Paid $600 for tractor about 10 years ago and it ran perfect. Has Eagle hitch for a while longer till I change it to a regular 3 pt hitch.
It is a great tractor and really is stout for just 20 HP.

That old Ford disc is just right for the VAC. That disc has 16 grease fittings on it. I will look later at my serial number and it is a 1951.

Does the disk make it light in the front end. I can't tell from the picture if you have wheel weights in front.

I do have the wheel weights on front and rear. It is not light on the front.
On my 8N without wheel weights, I could not turn with this disc.
Serial # is 5571452.

Thanks, it is good to know. I had been contemplating buying a disk one but have not seen one less than $500 around here and didn't want to spend the money if all i was going to do was pop wheelies! My serial is 0213,
so one of the early ones after they changed the grill.

Forgot to say I bought a dearborn rearmount cultivator for $200 which works pretty good for breaking up grond after plowing but doesn't work on trash like a disk

Richard G,
Why are you going to put a regular 3pt. on your VAC? In my opinion the eagle hitch is the best system on these small tractors.

Not all my implements will fit the EH. The disc I have on it just barely will fit. Takes 2 people to hook it up.
ACG and I have had this conversation on the phone.

My 300RN was too tight also. We discussed this on this forum to no conclusion. I switched the lift arms right to left, left to right. That solved the problem. Maybe you should try that with yours.

Is your mounted disk an eagle hitch? I may try to buy a 3pt disk for mine. I am a little concerned with close quarters between the disks and the rear wheel. I have the 34s and that hitch doesn't stick out very far past the wheels. If the disk was a fixed V it seems I might be in trouble.
