Would like to see a picture of a 30 series with scufflers

Does anyone have a 7-8-930 tricycle style tractor with mounted scufflers/cultivator. I have never seen one. We are kind of moving in the direction of organic, not a zealot that believes that conventional food is bad. Just think I would like to take on the challenge of organic production. And to continue to grow corn, I will need to cultivate corn rows. I can buy a boat load of Super C IH tractors with mounted cultivators, but I want either a Case 730 or 830. If you have one, or a picture of one, or have even run one of these tractors, please share your photos and experience.

Really think about working with OP corn, with twice the protein level it's well worth a look, as you aim in a little different direction.

I have shots of 730/830 ect with the 800 series mounted,, just did not have one handy,, I haev one of these cultivators also they made one for the 70 series also in the early 70's, I also have a nice 3pt unit like the second pic

When I was a kid, middle 60s, Dad had front mount cultivators on the 800 Case and 400. Everything since has went to rear mount cultivators now. Have a couple Case cultivators for 4 row wide corn and a JD 6 row narrow. Since the use of roundup cultivators aren't used much. Did cultivate some a couple years ago to see if there was a difference but didn't see a yield response. I realize you need to get away from chemicals and use tillage instead. Rear mount cultivator will be a good response to weeds.

Tom could you take a close-up pic of the gangs on your 3pt model, I have never seen those before, thanks, Rod.

The first corn I cultivated was with an 830 and front mount cultivator. Dad bought a new rear mount the next year and we used that from then on. I have a 2 and a 4 row for my dc, but haven't had them mounted yet. I do have a 6 row rear mount like Tom has that I will convert to 4 row to use when I get a chance.

Bruce, we have been certified organic for over 20 years, and it has taken me almost that long to learn good weed control. We cultivate with either the 730CK or the 870 with a modern CASE-IH 6 row, 3 pt. hitch cultivator. HOWEVER!! It is best to eliminate the weed seedlings before they emerge. To do that we rotary hoe at least once, usually twice maybe even before corn emergence, and when the corn is young.

Hi Bruce; I have a 4 row front mount. I have always mounted it on a 430. The mounting brackets for the larger 30 series are undoubtedly different, but the scuffled proper would be the same. Sorry, but I don't have a photo to post. The frames on mine have been shortened, so it is 30" row spacing only. I might consider selling it. London area.

Bruce: Don't have any pics of mine, but it is a 30' Yetter. This is my 2nd 30 footer. The 1st one was 3 pt. which I mounted on the 1175, but it was heavy. The 1 we have now is mounted to a cart which takes all that weight of the hitch. I like it much better. Try this link to Yetter's Hoe site: http://www.yetterco.com/products/24-rotary-hoes/106-34003500-conventional-rotary-hoe
Might have to copy & paste.

Yes. How are you able to get a link, but I couldn't? When I found the Yetter site with the Hoe's, I copied & pasted from the search bar, but it didn't come up a link like yours.

John, are you using Modern View? In MV, click the "URL" button above the text box then ctrl-V to paste at the cursor between the brackets created. You can also add the brackets manually once you get used to them. Make sure "disable BBCode" isn't checked.

in the window you type below the box you type in has a few boxes,, top one says "Optional Link UHL:" I first copy the link then paste it in this box then type what you want the link descip to say in the next box down
