970 case rear axle seal.

Hi... finally got the hub off the 970 rear
axle...
Anyone know what number that rear seal
would be. Not a number anywhere on
mine...or at least one I could find.
Appears to be 5 and 1/4 of...I'd is tough
to say as seal is so damaged.
Any ideas or numbers to check...
And the serial number went bye byewith rust
and crud while this poor tractor resided in
a dairy barn. So I can't use that to help
in axle run down.

Homesteader, You can go to CASE on line ,or should I say if you have a dealer near you for a web site. Or use the one I use REDLINE EQUIPMENT , then go to parts, then pick a branch, it will bring up a screen and click on parts. It will show parts per model, type in 970. Now you can pick engine or what ever you Like. there will be different axles sizes, and it will give you the part number.
I hope this will help you.

I had to replace one a year ago on my 970. I could not find any seals close to the measurements. Had to get it from Case. $80 if I remember right.

We stock the correct rear axle seal for your 970. We stock it as the kit which includes a "Speedie Sleeve" for the seal surface where there might be some damage, or we also stock the seal by itself. 315-585-9826
