DC Spark Plugs

I use a 3/8th drive socket as some 1/2 inch are to large to fit back in and you don't get the proper feel for torquing them. I turn them in by hand then give them about another 1/4 turn.

Make sure your threads are clean before installing the new plugs. Get a tap or chaser, IIRC you need 18mm, run that through then crank the motor over a few revs before replacing the plugs to blow the dust out. I like to put a dab of anti-seize on them so they'll come out after a few years of rusting in place. Then torque to specs. If you don't have a torque wrench, you need one; very few people, even long-time pro mechanics like myself, can get even close to correct torque specs by feel. I've been turning wrenches for over a half-century and I still don't feel ashamed to use my torque wrench.
