1070 rear hub removal

Any suggestions on how to free up the inner hub on the rear axle would be appreciated. I'm trying to remove the rear hubs to replace the rear axle seals. This tractor sat for years in a dairy barn before I got it so rust has been an issue on all rebuilding. I have removed the center hub bolts and threaded in the 3 puller bolts but have hit a wall so to speak...it just won't break free with piles of torque applied with a 3/4 drive air impact. Any suggestions...???

I took an old wood splitting wedge, got my large grinder out and reshaped the taper to a more gradual
one, the taper on it was to severe to do any good. Then, with puller in place, I drove the wedge into
the split on the hub with a sledge, the more gradual taper allowed it stay put so you could
give it a good crack. Worked for me. When I got it off and cleaned up I smeared anti-sieze on the
inside, whether that will help down the road. who knows........?

Yeah... figured that might help...did you take off the out hub??? The part the wheel wedges connect to... probably easier to swing a sledge...?

I've not had one apart before...what actually happens...does the out part push back with the three puller bolts or does the part the bolts are threaded into pull forward on the axle...?

just did my 1030 and had a heck of a time. A 3/4 impact isn't all that much either. But get them as tight as you dare then whack the end of the axle with a mall. It can take a lot. Once they are loose then drive the chisel in the split to spread them while soaking with lube. I had to build a pulled to get the hubs off my 1030 axles after the wedges were loose because they were too rusted on the axles. Used a piece of tube across the axle with threaded rod to the hub and as the center bolt.
