Case c timing

Hi was wondering some advice on checking the timing on a case c i recently purchased seems to have decent compression but wont start carbs good and mag gives you a shock not sure were to look next

Make sure gas is fresh and try to pull-start it in 3rd. Report back with your finding as to rather it would run or not and how well it runs.

My dad's old C got to where recently it would not crank but would run okay after a pull start. Weak impulse. 50 years ago it would crank any temperature. Then, Bosch mag would jump the spark a half inch.
