spring position in mechanical shuttle synchronizer?

For my Case mechanical shuttle, the synchronizer spring fell out on bench and I was unsure how it should be positioned. I was thinking one bent end of the spring was fitted into one of the three shifter plates. Then I found this photo online (brokentractor dot com) and spring end does not fit into one of the shifter plates. Unfortunately other spring fell out too. Just would like some clarification please.

The spring does not belong hooked in a shift plate, I would install as shown, if the one end was hooked in a plate it would seem to me that there could be unequal pressure on one side of that plate, ( I always called them dogs).

Thank you Mel!

I'm NOT familiar with your CASE transmission, but many other transmissions use similar synchros and the springs get installed as in the photo.
