I am trying to find a cam & bearings for a 1974 Case 201 (?) gas engine. Can someone show me where to find them.

The engine is in a dozer 450, but the original 188 was swapped out, for a engine out of a combine. Which one, we do not know. It was suppose to be a 188, but is not. Can't find out what the engine size is. it has a bore of 3.965, which I can not find in the case engines. So we are calling it a 201 Gas.

Thanks, Pat

The 201 was used in several apps,, a 660 combine, 580C backhoes are two that come to mind right now, the link should take you to the 201 parts page # 11 is the cam bearing set #, any ag dealer should be able to check with this #, I do not know if this site carries them or not , a great soruce is also external_link, John may well read this post and respond

If anyone could help figuring out what the engine size is, would be a big help also. We are not sure what the engine size actually is. It has a bore of 3.965 which I can not find anywhere for a Case. It has a casting number "CWC" "F75" on the side of the block. It also has a Case ID tag on the block, serial #2127720 which I can not find either. Was told it came out of a combine.

Thanks, Pat

That is what we decided to call it. But doesn't a 201 have a smaller bore of 3.937?

I'm still learning about Case engines.

Thanks, Pat

TC you are correct, the 201 is 3.937, the bigger measurement you gave comes out to 203 CID. Never seen a Case 203.

I'll check them when they get back from the crank being turned, and the rods resized. I have rebuild to many to count engines. I have never seen crank & rod bearings worn down so that I could move the crank .040-.050 while still bolted in, After I pulled the oil pan, I could do the same with the rods.

It still ran, I drove it to my house, 1/4 mile, and on the way, I pulled the owners tractor out of the mud with it. It was so stuck, that two 4x4 Kubota's & a 4x4 Bronco, at once could barely wiggle it. It never knocked, and it ran pretty good. I brought it to my house to only fix the governor, it was sticking all the time, not working.

That boom truck will lift anything you need to, the boom is about 100 years old. Made it easy to remove the cage. Someone welded it all together, had to be remove in one piece.

Needless to say, the engine is on my engine stand!

Thanks, Pat
