Just put new fuel filters on 188 D in 530

Ok I just drained fuel tank & cleaned up
Filter tank , blow out lines ect, new filters,
how do I bleed the injection pump? It's
188 d with pencil injectors and rosa master
Pump, and is there a return line from injection
pump ? Have not tried to start it yet, until
I get some replies from ya all

Fill tank with fuel, remove bleedvscrew primary filter until fuel flows cleanly, replace bleed screw and then repeat w/secondary filter. Hit key. Gravity bleed system. A very small amount of air pressure using a rag and a blow gun, or been your mouth will speed the process.

Pump is self bleeding, but you MIGHT need to loosen the injector line fittings 1/2 turn each to bleed air at the injectors if engine does not start right away..

Loosen the fuel line at the injector. Let the fuel run out until it is a steady stream with no air bubbles. Tighten the line back, you are ready to go. It might need to spin 3 or 4 revolutions before it starts but you are good to go. I always have to loosen mine well beyond half a turn though, you need a good stream with no air bubbles.

Ok , the fittings on the injectior
We?re very tight , so I did not pursue that
Procedure, now I did try 3 times to start
as is, no luck. Then I got this idea to use
a shop vac and cut the bottom off a Tylenol
bottle that fit around the fill neck on tank
and put some vacuum on the tank for about
Minute , hit the key and it started right up,
Now I don?t know if it was going to start ,
from the previous try , or if the vacuum on
the closed system did it
But it sure is good to hear it run again,
Thanks to all for your input. and no I am
not crazy

As the return is near top of tank,I had
about 3 gallons of fuel in it, and yes I
used shop vac. So I can only guess that
the vacuum pulled the air out of system
thru the return line.
