Hello folks! I have an 830 ck diesel and the tach is inop. I took the cable loose from the block and the shaft is spinning. The problem is that the shaft the square end of the cable slides down into seems to be too big or wollowed out. I have tried the new cable with no luck. I have heard some talk about this problem and they have used tin foil or built the cable up with solder. If it can't be done easily can you put the tach adaptor to the back of the generator and get a longer tach cable? What are any of you guys ideas? I fixed the ground speed indicator with a cable but I would really like my tach to work☺ Thanks in advance for you guys wisdom. Nick

I wondered about that. I hear it is a bad job to get it out. I heard a 9/16 ultra fine bolt will thread into it? If you know of a size and thread it would be helpful so I can pull it.

The thread size is 3/4" fine thread which is 16 threads per inch. Making a puller is the easy part. The hard part is the last time I checked a new drive was over 300 dollars.
