970 Case PTO seal replacement

My older model 970 Case is leaking hydraulic fluid from the PTO area. What is the procedure for replacing the seal? Would appreciate any help.

Depends on what seal is leaking. Two speed PTOs had more than one. The outer seal that you can see is easy. Just drill a couple of holes in seal flange and put screw in it to pry it out with a claw type tool. If oil is leaking around splines of pto shaft itself you are going to have to go deeper and remove pto housing.
