Did I luck out, or what?

Ive needed a front pedestal for my CC for several years. I asked the salvage man I deal with if he had any. He said no he didn't. I asked, well if you DID have one what do you think youd charge for it. He said likely $150, but he said id be paying that much in shipping.
Well, as it turned out, a guy brought in an old stuck CC with both the front axle on rubber, and the wide front end axle. It was off the tractor. I asked what he wanted for the tractor after I found it to be stuck. He said $750. I said what would you take in trade, my front end for yours? I told him about it and why I wanted his. He said that, if I would take the front end off and replace it with the wide front end, hed take $40. Me, my boy and grandson, got it done in quick time. It looks right even tho the steering arm is way to long. He runs a little auction house in town, and just wanted it to set out for show. It was setting around 7 miles from me. Whats the odds of, in this day and age of seeing a CC that close to home? I hadn't seen another one around NE Okla in years. The local antique tractor show has never had one in attendance. IF I had a way, Id take it to show, tho its in its working rust, but I don't.
