I have to take a valve spring that broke off of my Case Sc and I?m pretty sure I know what I?m going to do but do any of you guys have ways that you have did them before?

easy, get the engine on TDC and apply air to the cyl.through spark plug hole with compression tester adapter. then just remove the keepers and away you go. air holds the valves up. replaced many valve seals like that on engines.

If you don't want to rely on your air compressor working, you can remove the spark plug and cram rope in the cylinder. Then turn the engine to bring the piston up against the rope and hold the valve up that way. You just want to be sure in the final position the valve train is not trying to open the valve before you remove the rocker arms.

The air pressure will push the piston to the bottom unless you lock the crank up somehow. If using air keep in mind that if your valves and seats are worn it won't take much up a bump for that valve to fall into the cylinder if the piston is down. I have used both of the methods mentioned.
