Hi All -
I picked up some neat Case stuff at a local sale lately. A longtime
well-known indie mechanic who?d been in business forever recently
sold out.
I was wondering about this Case diesel toolkit that he bought from
the local dealership years ago. Adirondack said it was required for
dealers to have them - but was it because of lessons learned with
problems of the 500? Or just to service the 700-800-900s, due to
sales volume etc?
Were there other required toolkits too? Or was this more of an
exceptional item?
I also got a super cool 1921 advertising booklet. It is almost 50
pages long and covers the crossmotors and plows and how they
were made, etc.
I thought it was interesting - on the listing on the back of the book -
where it makes the big distinction between JI Case plows and the
Grand Detour plows. I wonder why Case didn?t absorb the GD
plows immediately after purchasing the company.
