Looked at a 970 to day that will be at auction tomorrow, looks like a 3 out of 10, engine sounds good, it idles at half throttle, lever moves back to idle, but revs stay at half. When the clutch is depressed the engine speed changes, am guessing that's normal, wasn't able to drive it, as its sitting is a sea of mud, its got 5200 hrs, anything to look for on this model?

On the throttle not dropping the rpm's it could be dirt building up under the foot throttle. There should be a round cover plate to take off and then you can use a shop vac. Might have to oil the linkage on the firewall side while moving the foot peddle back and forth.

Thanks for the info, went to the sale today, they finally stated that the trans had problems, and 2nd gear was gone, wasn't interested after that.
