Belt drives for VAC's

I have a 1944 Case VAC with the belt drive missing. My parts book shows a drive housing #VTA-2925. i've seen drives with a VT-63 on the housing. I want to make sure I get the right one. Are all belt drives innerchangable on all VAC's irregardless of the year of manufacture?

I have a belt drive unit that came off a 1946 VAC sitting right here in my office. Has the hyd pump on it also. I also have one out in my shop with out the pump but no cover plate where the pump bolts on. E-mail is open as always

Those numbers are for the later drive that doesn't have the pump. Will work on the earlier models just would not be able to put the pump assembly on it. VT 184 or VTA 487 are the #s for the earlier style. All of these #s are the casting # for the housing not the whole assembly. Lee

I have a belt drive assembly for a VAC including the pulley and the add on hydraulic pump.
I also have some other misc. VAC, VAO parts left over from a project I sold several years
ago.

Thanks
Allan

Another thing to consider is if you don't need the hydraulics you might want to go with the later style. They have provisions to disengage the pulley if not being used. Makes it safer to be around with the tractor running. The early style although you can disengage the pump, you can not disengage the pulley. If you did not want it turning, you have to take the pulley off. There was a cover that went over the end of the shaft to shield it. Without the cover, the end of the shaft might be more prone to catching loose clothing than the pulley. Lee
