Got a step on my Case 431

Purchased the step off eBay. A friend made the brackets. Just need to paint the brackets when we get warm weather.

When the grounds frozen and the snow is heavy you need chains, can?t do much with bare lugs. I had the blower and chains off then we got about 9? of snow recently. Tried moving it without chains but wouldn?t do it, put chains on, what a difference.

Gotta do something like that with my 611B. It's a rowcropper and a bit hard for this old coot to climb up on.

I wanted a simple design that was easy to remove. I can remove the whole assembly by just removing the two 5/8? bolts just below the hydraulic filter access cover. Could install the same kind of step on the opposite side as there are another two 5/8? bolt holes on that side.

I have a early vac in the shop with the operators platform level with the top of the transmission and eagle hitch and have wondered how anyone climbed up on that?

I have no problem getting on the tractor without the step, just preparing for the future.

there is supposed to be a step on the side of the VAC mounted below the platform. It looks like a half stirrup on a saddle.

Thanks for the info. I have never seen one. I have 4 vac"s, 2 that don't have eagle hitches and a vac-14.

You may not need a step but if you have one you will use it. I like it best for dismount.
