I read an old post about you buildnig a pretty high horse, stock stroke D engine and you mentioned pistons you had designed. I was wondering if you had any for sale as I`m looking to hop up mu old CC some, was looking to use the sleeves I have now, which are 4 1/16 bore, thinking your pistons ought to work for me, just a smaller diameter than what you are using.

The pistons you have in mind are 4 5/8 bore and specially made for Billet rods with different size pins than DC. You would be better to take your piston to a race engine builder and get some help getting you want, my pistons were designed to be used with a lower compression head, it was a special combo.

After I posted the question I figured you used a different length rod and maybe a different diameter wrist pin too, making my wild idea about an easy swap out of the question.
I have a gas head on it now, but also have an all-fuel head too, so I could go either way there. If I get my compression up around 10 or 12 to 1, do you think stock rods are going to be ok (bore 4 1/16)? Also, I remember you mentioning reinforcing the rear main, do you thing that will be ok? And out of curiosity, how/what do you do to strengthen the rear main? I appreciate your time in answering!

We run 3/4 threaded grade 8 rod up through the main saddle bolts and out the top of the engine at the rear of the block. It is not an easy job as it requires drilling holes in the engine block, grinding places that interfere with the bolt and relieving one of the threaded rods so the cam will go in. It must be done carefully.
