Case 188 gas

The 188 Spark Ignition was not used in the 530s. It was used in the 630s. The 530s were equipped with a 188 Diesel or 159 Spark Ignition.

Denny, the simple answer is yes, but there is a caveat. The 188 block is approximately 1.5 inches longer than the 148 or 159 CU spark ignition engines, which means things like the hood, side rails and linkages are going to be problematic. - Joe

I own a CASE 610 B Tractor with Loader....... Tractor had a 188 Combine Engine installed by previous owner. Engine was 1 5/8" longer:

Tractor has lots of power for my usage.....and EATS plenty of FUEL!.

Case gassers built in the 60s aint no better than anyone elses in the rainbow of
colors .except for maybe the 188 .that said , The 188 DIESEL IS THE VERY BEST
...I ran a 630 gasser on a haybine a couple yrs ,,.worked very well. if it was a
188 gasser , there was a noticeable boost in power over the 511b .i have a 730
gasser that will burn twice as much gas and deliver just as much work ..LOL
That said ,Maybe My valves and timing was poor or the points and plugsand timing
needed tweecked better , we all tried different things . i don't know why for
sure, But . All the gasser 100-30 series seem to be underpowered when it came
to working hard for ME .They will puddle along in 4th hi just puffin , and a
huffing on level ground til finally they hit that magic rpm Realization "I Am
Gonna DO IT , LETS Go !",But by then I encounter a rise in the road And it lugs
back on down to nuthinville and when i shift to 4th direct we have fighting
power again ., Those little girls act the same way on a feedgrinder ,.No
"KIKAZZand to hale with the names !"like ALL the VAC and DC gassers i ever
ran...even the Sc has better fighting power.
