Case EH7 Mower Update

Pecked around on the old mower and trailer I picked up. Took the remaining ratty fender off the trailer and it is now on chore hauling detail when needed.

The sickle mower is rusty but all there. It evidently spent some time nosed over in the dirt but this appears to have saved all the rotating components. With new grease fittings they all took grease and were spinning freely and easily. I even think I have a NOS pitman stick in the shed for it. The belt is still intact and possibly will help me track down a new one eventually. the mower is the 7' model and a manual is in the works. Unfortunately, the front portion of the telescoping PTO shaft did not fare well. The front knuckle has been broken off (perhaps why it got parked) and it too spent some time in the dirt. Thankfully it took grease in the new grease fitting and with the generous application of heat & hammer came off. Now I need to find a replacement. The back section of the PTO shaft is free moving and looks to be in operable condition for the moment.

I grabbed some old CaseIH header guards and sickle sections and held them up to the bar and they appear to match right up to the holes. Perhaps you folks have more experience with this but I am pondering an upgrade/conversion to the CIH sickle parts. Regardless, the current sections and guards are junk and need to be replaced. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

The outcome will not be as simple as you think. Ledger plate height and depth will not be the same with your newer double guards. Have fun !!!.
