in the near future will be putting the gase motor out of my 610b into my case 430 tractor. the 430 has a diesel in it. can anyone tell me if the flywheel from the 430 diesel interchanges with the 610b gas engine? thanks.

(quoted from post at 18:29:33 03/05/18) Just out of curiosity, is the motor shot or are you making a puller?
no the motor is worn out would need a complete rebuild. they may have used either to stsrt it and it broke two valves off. I believe my gas engine is pretty good so would like to put it in.

Does the diesel have the older style injectors or the pencil injectors. If the older style, a lot of scarce parts between the head, injector pump, lines, and injectors.

On another note, curious why you would want to give up on a 610 as opposed to buying another head or even engine for the 430.

Flywheel is the least of your worries. The tin work is longer on the diesel engine tractors. Front axle supports, if wide front end, will need shortening, as well as the steering shaft.

yes I am aware of the other problems, am not that conserned,it is a wide ft end. steering shaft no problem as it does not go to the ft end. I hope flywheel fits off diesel because one on 610 is auto tractor so don't know what they have.

Brian: The Flywheels will not interchange, and the Flywheel that is on the 164 will not work in the 430. I'm not even sure the 164 will bolt up to the 430.

not the news I wanted to hear, but thanks for the news. I did some mounting bolt measurements and it appears the same as the 430? but if the flywheel would not work im sunk. thanks again

I am doing some major work on my 530, mating my front end and diesel to the rear end of another 530. the rear end I am using came with a flywheel from the gas engine it had on it.... that flywheel could be yours cheap if you want it. located in NW PA 16345
