Looking at a disk on an upcoming sale. It surely looks like a Case disk. I have no experience or knowledge about a Case disk. What can you tell me about this disk...a good one? Bad things? Issues? I would not be
using this disk for major tillage---work around the edges and waterways.

That is an S series disc, I'm not sure which one. Looks like a late model with roller bearings rather than bushings. Both were great discs in their day. The only real difference is if it has bushings you need to grease it every few hours of use. They may be the best disc made at that time. The weak part is the solid bars on the hitch in front where they are drilled for the pin about 18" back from the hitch. They hold up fine to about 70 hp, but if you put a large tractor on them they will break there. Most I've seen have been welded and beefed up there.

The crank on the hitch is to adjust the height to fit you tractor and the disc lifts level, not rear high. The crank may be stuck now but you could heat it up and maybe get it to work.

Here is my "S" that I also posted here this summer and the guys here gave me the heads up what it was. It really helped as I needed a quick idea what model, its sure great to come here and get answers
