3 point backhoe on 611b, will it work?

Would a 3 point backhoe work ok on a 611b? It has eagle hitch if that makes a difference. Will the tractor hydraulics be enough? I am guessing I would need to hang some weight on the front.

The 600 has a low pressure low volume system compared to the needs of a backhoe. If the pressure is sufficient to dig the backhoe probably would be slow, If installed on the hitch it will have to be fastened securely so it cannot raise up or cylinder / piston damage will result. as far as I know the tractor has no high pressure reliefs to prevent hydraulic pressure increases from weight being put down on the hitch by shock. I would not consider it.

Really bad idea. Tractor hydraulics not designed for it, pump is only about 10 gpm and most likely after 50 years it's performance poor. Also, the whole rear end is not designed for the stress of a backhoe.

Depends on the type of backhoe used. My Father put a Shawnee Backhoe on our 400 CASE . It goes on the three point and uses the tractor hydraulics. Seems to run just fine
and never damaged the tractor. Been used on the tractor since the 50's, he dug graves at the local cemetery, put in septic systems and a lot of field tile over the
years.I still have both units.

(quoted from post at 07:13:35 02/09/18) Didn't some of that type of hoe have their own hyd system that ran off the pto?
es, you can still get them from Tractor Supply, I think around $1200. I still wouldn't put one on my 611B for two reasons. John Saeli pointed out above that the tractor just isn't built for it, the back end isn't heavy enough. The other thing is that the Eagle hydraulics are one-way, that is, they'll pick up the attachment, but not put the tractor's weight down on it, so you'll only have the weight of a very cheap attachment to dig with. Useless.
