DC Steering

John Saeli you are right, there was no play in the horizontal shaft bushings and the worm gear was tight on the shaft. Chuck took out two shims and the gears started to bind. One shim worked much better. We could not get 100% just a little play between the two worm gears. This was after moving the pivot arm180 degrees

You know, Pastor John, that putting high speed gears in a DC is akin to crossing a Lutheran with a Pentecostal. You better have the steering tightened up and hang onto the wheel lest she get away from you. LOL (A little religious humor from a pentecostal friend.)ADB

One thing about a CASE, you could put your foot on the end of the rod to take up the play if the steering gears were worn. Try that on some of the other brands.
