Okay guys here's a good one for you
Call my uncle decides to restore my grandfather's 1946 case VAC and in doing so he did not do some things correct so the tractor runs and it drives does not smoke he did not restore the internal compartments basically all he did was restore the exterior it has been converted from 6 to 12 volts the problem is when I go to actually drive the tractor I could drive in about 35 40 ft and it acts like it's running out of gas the throttle rod in the center of the carburetor is extremely loose and the spring on the right side going to the governor where the foot throttle is is also very weak I don't know if it needs to be tighter to pull more tension on that Governor lever any help would be tremendously appreciated

you can look at a previous post of what I all found in my VAC gas tank. Some of it was cloth threads. They would not drop all the way into the sediment bowl so you couldn't see them without taking the whole assembly out. Drove me crazy as the gas in the bowl didn't look that dirty.

I have checked that fuel flow
I have plenty of fuel flow to carb
Could the rod in carb be my problem or the spring
On the throttle rod
I am also looking for a spring that is at the
Junction of the foot and hand control
It is a little round spring and i have no idea where or what it looks like

Do some simple trouble shooting.
#1 check that you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at all 4 plugs that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fil la pint jar in less the n3 minutes and yes catch it so you can look for water/dirt in the gas.
#3 when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner and dumped the mud and water out if it and fill it with good oil.

By the way the VAC that I own see to have aa slow governor kick in so that if your not throttle up enough could be causing you problems also

(quoted from post at 06:29:23 01/26/18) Ok so what does the knob on the distributor do

Was any of the carburetor-governor linkage removed during restoration? Could you post a few photos of what you're dealing with? It's been awhile since some of us have worked on a VAC. A few photos might wake old memories.
