970 Powershift update

I had my 970 with powershift freeze up in extrmely cold sub-zero weather for two weeks. It worked again after we had a warm day and I put a torpedo heater under it for an hour. I will be replacing the transmission fluid and filters with new Hrdra-tran from the dealer. According to the service guy, the fluid has water absorption capabilities up to 1 percent. The fluid in mine appears to be towards the end of the recommended hours based on fading color and time for a complete change. Thanks for your responses.

That will be the best thing to do for the tractor. Don't forget to take the relief valve and spring from the old filters and put into the end of the new filters. If I remember right there are instructions with the new filters on this. These tractors are not really known for letting water in the system. Maybe it would be a good idea to drive the tractor around the section in road gear in the hot summer to warm the oil up good and burn up some of the condensation. Good luck.
