my case has a 188 diesel. how do I tell by casting nos on head if another head is compatable to my engine?

If it has pencil injectors or if the injectors are held in with 2 bolts and a casting number

thanks the reason im asking is a fellow says he has a piston and a head for me. he is quite a ways away. his head casting no is A37835 ---piston is A38424 my head is A36876----piston is G2137 so we don't know if they are the same or not?
