Some pictures of our pickers and shellers. The picker-sheller with the auger hopper is a Model 90...last one Case made. Also a Model IM on a DC Case.

Steve,

I have a couple of questions about Case corn harvesters: 1. Were they pretty competitive design-wise with the competition? 2. Did they leave a trail of kernels like NI pickers always did? I do remember an Oliver and an IH picker from my early days, but NI really locked up that market in this area. Never saw or heard of a Case picker around here. Don

I have picked corn with each of these machines. I bought a Case IR (that's the two row picker) when I started farming with a neighbor. Dad had a model P when I was a kid and he upgraded to a two row also. They were no better or no worse than the New Idea or Oliver, MM,or IHC in my opinion...all were pheasant feeders. The Case Corn Harvester had a screen and elevator that caught the shelled corn and elevated it to the picker elevator and into the ear corn wagon. Fun to run the old shellers but we plant 30" corn so it means I have to plant with the Case Chisel Planter if I want wide rows to pick.
