Tom, those pictures were taken the same place that the sweep pictures were taken. Back in the early 50s there was a guy in Thedford NE that was putting mowers together like that. That is where my DC4 came from. Grandpa bought it, an Eagle hitch mower, and another, I think Eagle hitch mower, mounted on a cart. His was PTO driven, but I am sure there were some that had a hydraulic drive on them.
Now you are gonna make me do some digging.

I never saw a 10 series mower set up like that.
When the 10 series mowers came out a couple of engineers came here to our dealership/farm with several crates of guards, knife bars, and hold down clips. We spent a week changing guards etc. to get them to cut in wet heavy fine grass and alfalfa. Ended up finding that short stub guards with ledger type hold downs that reached the tips of the guards worked the best, but were prone to rock damage.
I was young then, but remember that we mowed with a M10 on a 611B with a cradle for a trailing Cunningham crimper to do all the trials.

Tom, are you thinking about Rowse in Nebraska. they are still making these machines and you have a choice of NH or IH heads. Work pretty slick. I don't know how to past, cut, lick, stick or chop or I'd post a pic. If it's still listed there is a double trailer and a single three point listed on the Dallas, Tx. craigs list. A double with 9 ft bars can get with the program.

p. s. I think I've seen where they have started making double disk mowers.

wow I type slow. You guys clobbered me on responses while I was worken on it. interesting info, I remember rowse mid mounting one and putting an offset trailer mower on the back. Thanks for the picture.

Interesting pictures, I never knew they were messing around with something like this. Although, we probably wouldn't know anyway as we sold very few mowers

Angle of how the pic was taken of the pic ,, if you look at the fender clearance it shows the tire is standing straight up

I had a Case trailer type mower that had a hitch and PTO stub to hook a crimper behind the mower. I imagine the mower/windrower, and haybine came out shortly after this setup was put out there.
