oliver/ford/case plow

I had an older post where I talked about converting a 3bottom ford 101 plow to work on my VAC. At first the share was 8" or so away from the right tire. I took it apart, re-engineered it by reversing the top bracket and bolting it up different. I still have to monkey with the adjustment bolt, but it looks like I am now where I need to be with the bottom and the wheel. I went to one bottom. It is sufficient for my needs. I am planting sweet potatoes so deep is more important than fast. I painted it up in old Case impliment colors.

I failed to mention, I am waiting for a new plow share, once I have that I will try it out. It may seem silly to buy a 3 bottom plow and then drop 2,
but At 230 bucks it was way cheaper than any other ford 101 plow and cheaper than the catagory 0 plows as well. I should say I have seen some plows
cheaper but the moldboards were so rusty they would have had to be replaced. This one is in good shape.

When I first raised the plow on the Eagle hitch I had a foot between the end of the share and the inside of the tire. I only had about 6 or 8" I could move the wheel. I had to drop the 3rd bottom beam anyway so I went ahead and redid it. I thought I would still have to move the wheel in, but the reengineering worked better than I thought. Also, the upper link was way cockeyed on the original setup. I reversed the upper bracket on the plow, (which is offset) and now the upperlink comes mostly straight back.

It is going to pull your tractor front wheels into the furrow once the bottom gets into the ground.
You need to get the draft line of the plow centered more. Looking at pic from rear, plow needs to be slid to left, and RH rear wheel slid in. Likely about 8" off, judging from pic.
Good luck.
