I'm getting closer to firing up the new engine in my 530 I just rebuilt. This was one of them that you just keep thinking what's it need next.
The crank was bad, valves were shot, head had to be shaved, new pistons and sleeves, one rod was no good, starter bendix solenoid was bad,
needed new steering wheel, rockshaft seat was shot and more.
Tomorrow I will put gas in the tank and see what happens 🤔
I have a question on the starter safety switch. I got a new safety switch from John Salei and installed it. If I put the gearshift in the S position I
get nothing to the starter solenoid ? If I touch the two wire terminals together on the safety switch then I get juice to the solenoid and the engine
cranks? When I pulled the switch out I noticed a little plunger that must come up to engage the switch. Moving the gearshift lever I don't see the
plunger going down unless I push on it with a small screwdriver. Thanks Dick
