My guess is this is a White built model, does anyone know for sure? It is a Case plow as CASE is on the tag but very hard to see. This 3-18's should make a great size for
the 870 to play with. Rod.

Tom I really did not believe at first that it was 18 in. But off course I had to measure and sure enough it was. That should help a bit in trying to turn under some corn stalks. Do you know what the white mod. no might be for looking for parts? It could use a couple lays. Rod.

Rod, I agree with Steve they are a 508 in White trim I have a 6-16" 508 I use here,, I asked Loren about it and he confirmed what I thought as later than my lit 1975 era, they did add the 18" bottom option, they are great plows, mine is a bit older plow than the lit shows but my ops manual says 508 on it

Yes Oliver built plow 308 I believe ours might be a little newer but I purchase any parts needed at Fleet Farm except land sides CNH wanted 130 for those so I welded $10.00 IH pads on ours

Bro, your plow is either a 400 or 500 series. Much bigger backbone than the 308. Look at the front of the backbone on Rod's plow and then yours. The 308 was never built to be pulled with an on land hitch. Your plow on the other hand has a heavy flange on the front of the backbone to attach the furrow wheel for an on land hitch.

PS, If you read down in the paragraph listing optional equipment you will see a 14" general purpose bottom listed. I believe that is an error. The National/Pittsburg plows that Case offered came in 14" and 16" They were both semi mounted and fully mounted plows, and had Star bottoms on them.

Sorry Bro, I have a 400 Case/White plow also but it is FAR heavier built than the White plow I have, the tail wheel cylinder is up at the front of the plow on my White plow, my 400 plow has it at the tail wheel,, I know mine is not like the one in Rods pic,, cant locate my ops right now with the remodeling I am doing but my ops shows mine as a 508 White plow, it has a different frame than the 400/500 series plows but a similar main frame/backbone to the 400/500, last two pics are my 400 Case plow it must be 30% heavier than the White unit, But after looking back at my White plow and the 300 series in my lit I do not think they are the same plow at all, and my White plow does not seem to have been offered in Case colors

The 870 will play with that. We sold 870s with 5 16s 3300 series. Sent them out to the field with 18.4x34 loaded rears, 2 sets of rear weights, Wrapper-adapter, and 4 nose weights. We have hilly ground here, and the 870s would do most everything that the 930 CKs could do, and more with the PS tranny. 870s didn't have the low end torque that the 930s had, but prolonged lugging of 930s caused cylinder head problems, that the 70 series head design cured.
Just a side note, We replaced several 251 gas engines 770s and bolted in 336T small crank engines. This was our NE version of the dubbed and decaled "Texas Tornadoes" 1170s

Loren we have some tough clay soils but the 870 should still do well with this plow. It is dry with no weights and I will keep it light because its main job is cultivating. Around this area 1070's pulled 5-16. Our good buddy Stan had a 1070 BK weighted and dualed pulling a 7-16 onland plow for a couple years, then the rearend gave out. Even 13's only pulled 6-16 max. I have a 5-20 IH plow for my 13, it pulls it easy anyplace. Rod.
