Can some one tell me what kind of oil goes into the hydraulic system of a case 1845 early model skid loader.

I have a 1845c and it says 10-30 motor oil but they want you to put a case additive in with that. I had to have a main drive pump and right hand drive motor replaced and they told me to start using HYD oil so now I am using hy-trans.

Case garden tractors use motor oil for the hydraulic drive. A lot of us use 15w40 Shell Rotella motor oil. I'd think the two systems would be similar. A hydraulic pump driving hydraulic motors.

BTW, I use 5w30 in my Case garden tractors. It works better on those bitterly cold days.

In my research of hydraulic oil for a 60xt, I found 10-30 engine oil with the case additive to be the answer. Supposedly been that way for lots of years. Found lots of people tried hytran and got to rebuild a pump because of it.
