I got a 53 DC with eagle hitch, no top, link or top link bracket that bolts too hydraulic housing/ pto. I removed lower arms and converted to cat 1 lift arms, no major mods just bolt on stuff so it can be original one day, the top link support I found from Don L, quick shout out, great guy to deal with, can I use two top link supports one one each side of pto/hydraulic housing for upper link, link between both supports using an common tractor supply top link with cat 1 pin through whole deal, my question I was told I cannot use plows, blade etc, draft equiptment with this top link, how rugged is it what can I do with it?? Thanks Dusty

Haven't used any implements on my 54 yet but someone did in the past and the bolts on that small bracket on top busted out the
casting. I have been told by many on here that this is a common issue and that using the 4 bolt bracket that mount to the pto is
the way to go.

I cultivated corn for many years with a 4 row CASE/IH cultivator with the top link bolted to the bracket on top of the PTO/hydraulic housing and had no trouble. I'm certain it wasn't designed for that much weight, but I didn't know any better at the time. Don

that very top hook up was only intended for mowers and cultivaters ,, used the way Case Engineers intended no harm
can occur,,.The Plow should hook over the PTO using the hawg snout ,.HOWEVER ,,.. for all other peculiar uses ,..
just be careful of the angle of the dangle of the top link,. i hoooked up a subsoiler to the DC,and all went well
for a few rounds ,. then i got tro the ebd and went tro raise the subsoiler AND jacked the top off the
transmission PTO cover m, i took all the pces to my neighbor that is a super welder and loves a good challenge
,.WHat A mess to weld back ,, that happened back about 1990 . and i was told NEVER DO THAT AGAIN ..

Here's a bracket we put together that works well. Sorry I didn't take time to reorient the photo.

Lars: That is a good start, but all the torque is on the top 2 bolts. Somehow, the top needs some more re-enforcing.

I don't think you can turn it upside down because of the shaft, but the Genuine CASE Bracket spread the load pretty much evenly over the 4 bolts.
