I have a 1961 Case W3 tractor (530) with model 42 loader and backhoe. With the counterweight of the backhoe I was able to unload and place these large rectangular bales with my loader. My loader bucket has hooks welded to top outer corners of bucket and I'd use a chain to hold bale to front of bucket. I figure the bales weighed 1000 lbs or more. The machine moved them well yet you could definitely feel the weight as you moved the bales from the trailer to hay barn. My specs for loader are 2500 lbs and the diesel 188 rated for 52 HP. This is a photo taken at where the bales are located at sellers residence. I am just curious about what precautions a person should take to avoid damaging their machine. I just moved them in 1st gear low range.
