Finally got everything working and got out a semi load of corn yesterday. Was warm enough that the frost was coming out so I had to deal with mud in a few spots, but not enough to get stuck. Supposed to be warm alk week and rain tomorroow again so that will likely be all for a while again. Going to get cold next weekend, but maybe more snow. Would be nice if it just got cold and stayed that way for a while. Lol.

Sadly they ate something that didn't agree with them and they perished. Had a couple families of hornets move in tho, luckily it was cold when we discussed living arrangements and they were easily evicted.

Hi, I never had anything to do with combines because we never grew grain. But I used to run a gravel crusher. I used to crawl between the screens to undo the bolts that held the screen down in order to change sizes. Other wise you would need to take a few layers out to get at the ones below. Your post reminded me of that some 40+ years ago. Ed Will Oliver BC

Good to hear you are able to get some corn out Jon. The sample in the tank looks good, what kind of moisture does the corn have? Rod.

Don't have a tested so we won't know til Jeff gets it to town, but I'm guessing 18% or so.

It looks like you got the lifter fingers bolted back onto the back of the concaves, How many puncture wounds do you have in your belly from crawling over the racks to get it reattached ???? I spent a lot of time inside Case combines and had an old drapper belt from a Case 850 swather that I rolled out on the sieves to cushion me when crawling inside them.

As per Tom's instructions, and the reason he's on "the list", I took the head off and pulled the concave out.

Jon,

I sure admire your tenacity keeping that old 1160 going. Do you have the Chrysler 318 or Case diesel engine? Don

Jon, Great pictures, and clean corn , you must have it set to perfection. Wet here and I just finished corn , nothing to brag about. Jerry from Ohio
