CAB for 931 Case

I am new to the site but I recently picked up a Case 931 and am looking to find a cab for this tractor. I will be using it mainly to pull a baler and to feed cows with FEL.

Not looking for super fancy with all the trimmings, I am really just looking to stay out of the Rain and the Sun as much as I can.

something to consider is a cab with no air conditioning is a like a green house in the
summer. even if you able to open all the windows they can be unbearable in the heat. an
umbrella or canopy maybe a wiser choice.

While I agree a non AC cab can be hot, I do run a 966 IH in the summer with a cab and no air . I take the doors off, open the widows , and have a fan mounted in the top right cab corner , blowing right on me. Makes it better in the cab than out in the sun.

I too have spent many many hrs in them without a/c,, very few a/c cabs in the 60's lol they made the cabs so you could get air flow through them

I have a cab off a 1030 in west central MN. I actually took the air off my 1070. Summer air is great I
hate the artificial cold air when I'm in and out. We have central air in our house and unless it's
pushing a 100 and humid, we don't use it. Some like it, some don't

that's a decent looking cab, years ago on the farm one of the 1850 olivers we had was equipped with a Cozy Cab, the front and rear windows were fixed in place. The doors were removable and the side windows would open but you just couldn't get enough airflow to be comfortable in the summer, just ended up removing it from the tractor.

The floor boards of a 930 are above the transmission. with an air gap between. Part of the hot transmission was in the cab on Oliver tractors. Big diff in comfort, during the summer months.

We sold Egging cabs, I remember they had a lower priced one with solid windows ,, we only ordered this style they were good cabs I thought for the day, this one is still in great shape, Egging even offered a/c then one of the first we sold with a/c

neighbor had a 930 open station, used it but never worked on it, and you are likely correct on the floor board heat of an 1850.

Unless you have chores in cold weather, have you considered a buggy top? I am not familiar with what a FEL is.

My brother bales about 20,000 small bales a year and he chooses the buggy top over an enclosed cab with air conditioner or an umbrella. He says he needs to hear the baler's clicks and other noises.

I also use a buggy top on my main summer tractor---a 170 Allis for mowing lots of acres of grass with a turf mower.

I am rarely uncomfortable out in the open under a good shade. The picture is me comfortable in 105 degrees. The umbrella in NOT a good shade. The buggy top is a good shade. The buggy top handles wind better than the umbrella. The buggy top come down around better causing more body parts to be shaded.

Tractor cabs before the Case 70 series, before the IH 86 series, and on the Deere 20 series were "boom boxes". They were hard mounted and not rubber mounted.

"FEL" is front end loader, I think he is going to use it to feed in the winter is my guess but I am not sure where he is at

Ron, you got me thinking to put one of those buggy tops on my "SC" and "DC"

I'm the same way about summer weather. In fact I very seldom open a window in my bedroom at night. I may sweat a little during the night, but I'm not uncomfortable.

Had a 930 with cab. Baled lots of round bales with it. Added A/C to it. Without it you are riding in a very very noisey/HOT tin
can that the floor gets so hot the bottoms of our feet burn through your work shoes and they burn even with A/C. Nice to be out of wind in winter, but no heat to warm you and still a noisey tin can.
